Other than as always a flat out personal attack on me; what have you gained here? All of your information again has been refuted as clearly false. You have nothing left to stand on but the false and personal attacks on my character. As always you can not refute the information, and must attempt to make the person look crazy, in order to cast a smoke screen so people will not take what I put forth seriously enough to actually consider reviewing it. I clearly know you and your types - better than you know you!
Lets look at the latest failed and childish personal attack and attempt at false discreditation of the information put forth; I wont even link to it, but here is the title. This comes from an Argus voices post in 2008, involving reply posts made an equally desperate to shut me down, character name Seven57; how sickly desperate are you people? I think the answer to that is obvious.

So when Lowell starts experiencing symptoms, does he question what might be causing them? No, instead he jumps on the anti-pharmaceutical bandwagon and assumes everything that is wrong with him is due to some miracle pill he is taking. However what Lowell fails to understand is SSRIs such as Paxil build up in the system to a maximum level within four to six weeks. So if the drug was really responsible for everything Lowell claims, why did he have no issues for six months?
The answer to that is that no-one ever has withdrawal syndrome, while they are on the drug! Obviously you do not even know nor have a clue what results, as to SSRI withdrawal syndrome; especially in regard to Paxil; which is the worst offender, having a comparatively very short half life.
Why do you think you can find endless references to that on the SSRI information and support sites out there? In regard to Paxil there was a class action lawsuit involving 3000 people, who provided records and eventually received an out of court settlement 5 years later. Guess who was in it? The lawsuit resulted in removal of all the non-habit forming TV commercials, and as well a corresponding warning label in the insert. The end result was a media gag order as to the settlement.
What you copied and pasted was at a time when to be described, all of us went through such as the living hell of needed months of tapering off the drug, which you obviously would have no clue about. I do not have anything the likes of what you claim; nor was it that at all. You are a very sick person, who ever wrote that said blog. You have never met me, nor do you know anything about me, other than what your hackers and stalkers have clearly followed of me. And you ARE connected to that.
As far as use of alcohol, the charge in 2005 was a false charge, and the conviction was illegal as they gave the jury information on prior convictions. I was entirely sober, and they know it, in all 40 minutes of video tape, driving as well. I have no argument with any other conviction. As if it is any of your business or has any bearing on the modern medicine and vaccinations truth I put forward. All you can do is falsely attack the messenger, as they have always done. This happens throughout all areas public and internet exposure of these truths, and has happened with almost all persons who have done exactly that. That is unfortunately how our world and our society work, and has become. They must keep the sheeple following that path, and deny all. As far as that time of my life, those were decisions I regret; however of course can not go back and relive it and make anything different. Many personal changes and as to what most important have taken place. I would challenge you to prove what you claim to in my current life. Medical and vaccine authority, money and the politics of medicine have allowed thousands of children to be sacrificed to the requirements of 100% "scientific evidence", that they have been harmed by vaccines. That on an immunological and neurological level, among others. We do not have even one expert toxicologist sitting on the FDA, the CDC, nor any other officially existing review board; ask why not. When these authorities can not even prove conclusively that a neurological
poison such as Thimerosal, (mercury), is safe in a vaccine; then we have not even scratched the surface as to the same issue regarding the additional remaining ingredients and known biological contaminants of any and all vaccines.
The element of blind trust, is long past the point of there being any left; nor reason to maintain any such thing. The parents trust the authorities, and know they can not refuse the vaccines, if their child is to be educate, and if not educated, at least home schooled, the child is taken away by the authorities. Thus the parents must
completely immerse themselves in the legal issues of exemptions, and have the fortitude to do so. Those avenues are there in every state; although are met by pediatricians and doctors that as to general health care of children, will kick parents out of their practice for refusing to vaccinate, or even waiting beyond the standard time schedule to do so. the question can then be asked, who owns your child, you or the state.
We can see by the even CDC documentary, that they feel the issue of vaccination is for the greater good, regardless of potential harm. They site the need for herd immunity; but we have had even herd immunity failures everywhere. We have had scores of claimed fully immunized children and teens come down with the very viruses they were vaccinated for. What does the CDC do when that happens; do they ever address it or the fact that children who had the vaccines still acquired the virus? No, they never have addressed that in any media article. What they do is ignore the issue and further fear monger the parents, to vaccinate; blaming all of it on non-vaccinating parents and a claimed lack of herd immunity. Well lets go now to some information on how the herd immunity theory was first formed, and lets look at just how scientific the claim to herd immunity actually is.

Ok, so here right out of the right out of the box, Costner or whoever made and is connected to this blog, makes the clearly incorrect claims as to the said studies that can be read right there in the first paragraph. I am starting to wonder who the idiot really is that created this said blog, because even I didn't think even he was that ignorant and misinformed about the past and current studies.
Then to compare the amount of mercury in a can of tuna, to be less exposure to mercury (thimersol), than a typical vaccine injection with 25 mcg. of mercury into the body of a child or infant is pure mislead insanity. Injection goes straight to the blood stream and tissues, organs, and the brain. Amazing. The author of this referenced to blog, Thimerosal in Vaccines: Questions and Answers, other than to reiterate claims the FDA has made; references only studies at the blog page bottom that are related to externally applied optomology products. To imply that-that is the same or comparable to the mercury thimerosal in vaccines being injected in a human body; shows purely ignorance to even basic toxicology. Those studies have nothing to do with vaccines. Ask, where are the expert toxicologists on the FDA and CDC, advisory panels; there are none, and as a fact!

As with most, antivaccinationists (or antivaxxers as they are so affectionately called), Mr. Hubbs often finds himself making claims about the effects of thimerosal in vaccines. He refers to the (now discredited) Andrew Wakefield study which attempted to link thimerosal with autism along with speaking of newer Wakefield studies with primates trying to suggest this link actually exists.
Unfortunately for Mr. Hubbs, there is not one single peer-reviewed study in existence which proves such a link exists. In fact, of the dozens of studies which tried to determine if such a link exists, they all have found no correlation between thimerosal and autism whatsoever.
I have addressed this before, there are countless studies I have put forth that would conclude thimerosal to be a contributing factor; and most of them are on my website. Any person interested can find plenty of those studies. Thimersol is not the only factor in vaccine caused autism; it is a combination of factors. Now that the end vascular territories are impaired, this is like a series of areas wherein the blood vessel pipes are "crimped,", partially blocked..or obliterated. At this point, any immune hyper stimulating triggers Nevaeh is intolerant of (e.g. Casein, Gluten, etc..) will lead to an immune response. It is the immune response that has these partially "closed vessels/pipes" cannot handle. This aggravates ischemia - and symptomatology.

It surrounded the issue of the MMR vaccine, which has never had mercury. As well his primate studies so far published also have not been with intent to prove mercury causes autism, although there are more refined as vaccine harm studies in the works. Due to the false attack on him he has pulled his name from those studies; to help further the chances of publishing those said further studies, which they will do.

I am starting to wonder who the idiot really is that created this said blog, because even I didn't think even he was that ignorant and misinformed about the past and current studies.
Then to compare the amount of mercury in a can of tuna, to be less exposure to mercury (thimersol), than a typical vaccine injection with 25 mcg. of mercury into the body of a child or infant is pure mislead insanity. Injection goes straight to the blood stream and tissues, organs, and the brain. Amazing. The author of this referenced to blog, Thimerosal in Vaccines: Questions and Answers, other than to reiterate claims the FDA has made; references only studies at the blog page bottom that are related to externally applied optomology products. To imply that-that is the same or comparable to the mercury thimerosal in vaccines being injected in a human body; shows purely ignorance to even basic toxicology. Those studies have nothing to do with vaccines. Ask, where are the expert toxicologists on the FDA and CDC, advisory panels; there are none, and as a fact!

As with most, antivaccinationists (or antivaxxers as they are so affectionately called), Mr. Hubbs often finds himself making claims about the effects of thimerosal in vaccines. He refers to the (now discredited) Andrew Wakefield study which attempted to link thimerosal with autism along with speaking of newer Wakefield studies with primates trying to suggest this link actually exists.
Unfortunately for Mr. Hubbs, there is not one single peer-reviewed study in existence which proves such a link exists. In fact, of the dozens of studies which tried to determine if such a link exists, they all have found no correlation between thimerosal and autism whatsoever.
I have addressed this before, there are countless studies I have put forth that would conclude thimerosal to be a contributing factor; and most of them are on my website. Any person interested can find plenty of those studies. Now that the end vascular territories are impaired, this is like a series of areas wherein the blood vessel pipes are "crimped,", partially blocked..or obliterated. The hallmark of American pediatric healthcare is the childhood vaccination policy. It is a portion of healthcare that is promoted by the government and enforced by the educational system. Parents are rarely even knowledgeable about the fact that in almost every state, whether to vaccinate is their own choice. We give up to three times the vaccines as other first world countries and there has never been more controversy and scandal surrounding another topic in medicine.
Of the hundreds of potentially dangerous vaccine additives, thimerosal has been targeted as a main concern by doctors, researchers and many organizations. Thimerosal was developed by Eli Lilly in 1929. Thimerosal is a form of ethylmercury, and is 50% mercury by weight. Mercury is almost the deadliest element on earth, second only to plutonium. Nervous system and brain damage are both proven effects of mercury exposure whether the toxin is inhaled, eaten or even placed on the skin. Starting in the 1990s, infants were being given multiple doses of mercury-laced vaccines. During this decade, babies were injected with mercury levels that exceeded the federal safety levels for dietary mercury by 87 times. By 1999, the government had asked pharmaceutical companies to remove all thimerosal from vaccines. However, there is plentiful evidence that the CDC was working against the government recommendation. In 2010, even though many parents are misled and believe vaccines are mercury-free, the thimerosal disaster continues. Many vaccines contain “trace” amounts of thimerosal. When a child receives numerous vaccines in a single day, trace + trace + trace still equals a toxic exposure. And unless special ordered, flu vaccines still contain up to 25 micrograms of this dangerous additive.
A common rebuttal given by medical and health officials to defend injecting thimerosal is the fact that children can eat mercury-containing fish and not suffer brain damage. Let’s explore this argument used to confuse the real issue at hand. What American parents should know is that eating tuna that contains mercury is totally different that injecting a vaccine with mercury.
A first important factor is that the mercury we ingest when eating fish is methylmercury. The mercury that we inject with vaccines is ethylmercury. When you inject into the bloodstream the body has no defense. Every organ and tissue is left vulnerable. Ok, so let's examine what Lowell considers to be "one of the best speakers out there" and see if she has the research to back up her claims. I'm an open-minded guy, so I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on the issue. If this Dr. Tenpenny has any legitimate science to support her theories or if she has some peer-reviewed studies published which support her claims, I'm more than willing to concede that there may be merit in some of the claims made by the anti-vaccination movement.
Well if this guy were honest he would be as to that statement - conceding right now. I am about to prove that as a fact.

I think the answer is clear. As with the vast majority of anti-vaccination conspiracy theorists, this Dr. Tenpenny is less concerned about vaccine safety or health, and more concerned about making a few bucks off of the scientifically and medically illiterate types who buy into her shell game.
I'm not about to dissect every single article written by Tenpenny, but the simple fact is they are merely articles and not science. Not only does Tenpenny not reference any of her own peer-reviewed studies, in many cases she doesn't even cite any studies by anyone else, thus I have no idea why Mr. Hubbs would consider this to be scientific in nature.
So lets go back to Lowell's quote where he stated that Tenpenny is "one of the best speakers out there". Tenpenny might be a riveting speaker, and she might even be popular among the anti-vaccination crowd, but how exactly does that give credence to what she says? Does she have any science to back up her statements? No. Does she have any peer-reviewed studies published which can prove vaccines are harmful? No. Does she have case studies showing the differences between vaccinated and non-vaccinated children? No. Does she have double-blind clinical trials showing long-term effects of vaccinations upon the health of a child or adult? No.
So what does she have exactly? Well aside from some DVDs and supplements, I guess I don't really know. Anyone can claim they are an expert as Tenpenny does, but the facts simply don't support that viewpoint. As to anyone having to refute Tenpenny's claims, once again I feel the need to point out how the simple concept of proof works. It is not my duty to refute anything Tenpenny has said as the burden of proof is upon her. That means Tenpenny needs to provide real science in order to support her claims, yet it appears she is either unwilling or unable to do so, thus her claims are without merit.
I have noticed that Mr. Hubbs often relies upon the fallacy of argument from ignorance, as he often places the burden of such proof upon the refutation rather than on the proof of assertion. Obviously if Mr. Hubbs cannot understand how legitimate debate actually works, it is doubtful we will ever make any headway, but at the very least it remains extremely easy to show examples of his ignorance.
However that isn't how real arguments work, and if Mr. Hubbs had more than a high school education he might know that. The duty to prove a claim in this case rests upon the person making the claim as if a person makes an ontologically positive claim, there is a heavily weighted burden of proof placed upon that claim.
Thus, in this case the only acceptable level of supporting evidence comes in the form of science - and that is the fact that Mr. Hubbs and so many of his fellow anti-vaccination conspiracy theorists continually ignore. Therefore until Tenpenny or Mr. Hubbs can actually provide some level of scientific evidence to support any of their theories, those theories will remain just what they are... unsupported opinion. Perhaps one day Mr. Hubbs will learn what a valid argument really is, and perhaps one day he will understand complex concepts such as philosophic burden of proof, but until then he will remain nothing other than a anti-vaccination conspiracy theorist.

Most people today have never heard of the concepts of the soil and the seed. This was a major controversy in Pasteur's day. On Pasteur's death bed he is said to have conceded, it was the soil not the seed. If you have no knowledge of this, it is actually the basis of all real health care. However drugs and vaccines could not be sold for millions in profits were that to be acknowledged. The early Rockefellers knew this and capitalized on it, providing large sums of money to all medical schools beginning in the 30's with a strict protocol that only a drug or vaccine could cure or prevent disease. Now we also have Costner admitting that he has never actually heard Dr. Tenpenny speak at any point ever! We also have Costner admitting he has never reviewed any books she has written nor any of the DVD's she has produced. So, therefore how does he know if there is any science and peer reviewed studies within that information? You can already see that in his claims that he lied about that as well, and as to what was on her site. You see he has never reviewed the work of Mary Tocco as well, and he makes the same false claims as to her research. Neither of these woman do anything but quote the science and the studies; you will realize that if you have any honest involvement in knowing what they put forth. You see this is Costners main game, and always was; lying and repeated denial of all that is there; and as to what he has been shown.
Ok, so lets look at a few more of Costners statements in this said blog!!!
This quote seems to call into question the germ theory first discovered by Louis Pasteur which has been accepted and proven as scientific fact. However most anti-vaccination types don't like the idea that germs can cause disease as they feel the body should be able to heal itself naturally or via spinal adjustments, and since they don't have any way to treat germs or bacteria, they instead simply reject the idea. Granted they don't have any science to support these views, but what else is new.
Tenpenny may feel viruses aren't a big deal or that the flu is actually natures way of healing the body, but that doesn't really help the estimated 200,000 people a year who are hospitalized due to flu-related complications or the 3,000 to 49,000 people who die from the flu each year. I'm sure it would be so comforting to these people if they knew their bodies were merely trying to heal themselves, and thus their death was actually a way for their bodies to get stronger.... wait - how does that help if they are dead exactly?
So back to the bigger issue here - who exactly is this Dr. Tenpenny? Well according to the bio on her website Dr. Tenpenny is a graduate of the University of Toledo and she received her medical training at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Nothing so amazing here thus far and honestly I don't even have a problem with Osteopaths, so I'm not even trying to pick on her. She goes on to say that she was board certified in Emergency Medicine through 2005 (which begs the question why she is no longer board certified) and has been board certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine since 1995.
This is where it starts to get a little shaky, because "Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine" or OMM is where a doctor not only examines the physical aspects of a patient, but the emotional, mental, and even spiritual as well. That in itself is all fine, but it seems Tenpenny has shifted focus and is drifting away from traditional medicine (which may explain why she is no longer board certified in Emergency Medicine). One thing of note is how Tenpenny actually uses space on her CV to openly state that she acts as a consultant to many law firms on vaccine injury cases. Classy, but I guess when you no longer practice real medicine you need to find other ways of building up the bank account, and what better way than acting as a hired gun to a big law firm who is seeking class action status for a few vaccine injury cases?
It seems that Costner conveniently ignored posting this section of the information. Nothing but a false and personal attack on all sources of alternative information and people. As always, with very little to no address; much more an honest address of the actual information itself. It seems that Costner the author of the said referenced to blog is an accomplished flat out lier! How would I know that; I have of course battled his lies elsewhere as well.

Dr. Tenpenny is a graduate of the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. She received her medical training at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Tenpenny was board certified in Emergency Medicine through 2005 and has been board certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine since 1995.
Prior to her career in alternative medicine, Dr. Tenpenny served as director of the Emergency Department at Blanchard Valley Regional Hospital Center in Findlay, Ohio, from 1987 to 1995. In 1994, she and a partner opened OsteoMed, a medical practice in Findlay limited to the specialty of osteopathic manipulative medicine.
In 1996, Dr. Tenpenny moved to Strongsville, Ohio, and founded OsteoMed II, expanding her practice and her vision of combining the best of conventional and alternative medicine. On July 26, 2000, the US medical community received a titanic shock to the system, when one of its most respected and honored public-health experts, Dr. Barbara Starfield, revealed her findings on healthcare in America.
The landmark Starfield study, “Is US health really the best in the world?”, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, came to the following conclusions:

We could have an even higher death rate by using Dr. Lucien Leape's 1997 medical and drug error rate of 3 million. 14 Multiplied by the fatality rate of 14 percent (that Leape used in 1994 16 we arrive at an annual death rate of 420,000 for drug errors and medical errors combined. If we put this number in place of Lazorou's 106,000 drug errors and the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) 98,000 medical errors, we could add another 216,000 deaths making a total of 999,936 deaths annually.

The Starfield study is the most explosive revelation about modern healthcare in America ever published. The credentials of its author and the journal in which it appeared are, within the highest medical circles, impeccable.
Yet, on the heels of Starfield’s astonishing findings, although media reporting was extensive, it soon dwindled. What has been the level and tenor of the response to your findings, since 2000?
My papers on the benefits of primary care have been widely used, including in Congressional testimony and reports. However, the findings on the relatively poor health in the US have received almost no attention. The American public appears to have been hoodwinked into believing that more interventions lead to better health, and most people that I meet are completely unaware that the US does not have the ‘best health in the world’.
In the medical research community, have your medically-caused mortality statistics been debated, or have these figures been accepted, albeit with some degree of shame?
The findings have been accepted by those who study them. There has been only one detractor, a former medical school dean, who has received a lot of attention for claiming that the US health system is the best there is and we need more of it. He has a vested interest in medical schools and teaching hospitals (they are his constituency). They, of course, would like an even greater share of the pie than they now have, for training more specialists. (Of course, the problem is that we train specialists—at great public cost—who then do not practice up to their training—they spend half of their time doing work that should be done in primary care and don’t do it as well.)
Have health agencies of the federal government consulted with you on ways to mitigate the effects of the US medical system?
NO.
Since the FDA approves every medical drug given to the American people, and certifies it as safe and effective, how can that agency remain calm about the fact that these medicines are causing 106,000 deaths per year?
Even though there will always be adverse events that cannot be anticipated, the fact is that more and more unsafe drugs are being approved for use. Many people attribute that to the fact that the pharmaceutical industry is (for the past ten years or so) required to pay the FDA for reviews—which puts the FDA into a untenable position of working for the industry it is regulating. There is a large literature on this.
Aren’t your 2000 findings a severe indictment of the FDA and its standard practices?
They are an indictment of the US health care industry: insurance companies, specialty and disease-oriented medical academia, the pharmaceutical and device manufacturing industries, all of which contribute heavily to re-election campaigns of members of Congress. The problem is that we do not have a government that is free of influence of vested interests. Alas, [it] is a general problem of our society—which clearly unbalances democracy.
Can you offer an opinion about how the FDA can be so mortally wrong about so many drugs?
Yes, it cannot divest itself from vested interests. (Again, [there is] a large literature about this, mostly unrecognized by the people because the industry-supported media give it no attention.
Would it be correct to say that, when your JAMA study was published in 2000, it caused a momentary stir and was thereafter ignored by the medical community and by pharmaceutical companies?
Are you sure it was a momentary stir? I still get at least one email a day asking for a reprint—ten years later! The problem is that its message is obscured by those that do not want any change in the US health care system.
Do medical schools in the US, and intern/residency programs in hospitals, offer significant “primary care” physician training and education?
NO. Some of the most prestigious medical teaching institutions do not even have family physician training programs [or] family medicine departments. The federal support for teaching institutions greatly favors specialist residencies, because it is calculated on the basis of hospital beds. [Dr. Starfield has done extensive research showing that family doctors, who deliver primary care—as opposed to armies of specialists—produce better outcomes for patients.]
Are you aware of any systematic efforts, since your 2000 JAMA study was published, to remedy the main categories of medically caused deaths in the US?
No systematic efforts; however, there have been a lot of studies. Most of them indicate higher rates [of death] than I calculated.
What was your personal reaction when you reached the conclusion that the US medical system was the third leading cause of death in the US?
I had previously done studies on international comparisons and knew that there were serious deficits in the US health care system, most notably in lack of universal coverage and a very poor primary care infrastructure. So I wasn’t surprised.
Has anyone from the FDA, since 2000, contacted you about the statistical findings in your JAMA paper?
NO. Please remember that the problem is not only that some drugs are dangerous but that many drugs are overused or inappropriately used. The US public does not seem to recognize that inappropriate care is dangerous—more does not mean better. The problem is NOT mainly with the FDA but with population expectations.

Concerning the national health plan before Congress—if the bill is passed, and it is business as usual after that, and medical care continues to be delivered in the same fashion, isn’t it logical to assume that the 225,000 deaths per year will rise?
Probably—but the balance is not clear. Certainly, those who are not insured now and will get help with financing will probably be marginally better off overall.
Did your 2000 JAMA study sail through peer review, or was there some opposition to publishing it?
It was rejected by the first journal that I sent it to, on the grounds that ‘it would not be interesting to readers’!
Do the 106,000 deaths from medical drugs only involve drugs prescribed to patients in hospitals, or does this statistic also cover people prescribed drugs who are not in-patients in hospitals?
I tried to include everything in my estimates. Since the commentary was written, many more dangerous drugs have been added to the marketplace.
106,000 people die as a result of CORRECTLY prescribed medicines. I believe that was your point in your 2000 study. Overuse of a drug or inappropriate use of a drug would not fall under the category of “correctly prescribed.” Therefore, people who die after “overuse” or “inappropriate use” would be IN ADDITION TO the 106,000 and would fall into another or other categories.
‘Appropriate’ means that it is not counter to regulations. That does not mean that the drugs do not have adverse effects.

I’m aware there are reports, outside the mainstream, which conclude far more than 225,000 people in the US die every year as a result of medical treatment. For example, see the work of Carolyn Dean, Trueman Tuck, Gary Null, Martin Feldman, Debora Rasio, Dorothy Smith.
This interview with Dr. Starfield reveals that, even when an author has unassailable credentials within the medical-research establishment, the findings can result in no changes made to the system.
Yes, many persons and organizations within the medical system contribute to the annual death totals of patients, and media silence and public ignorance are certainly major factors, but the FDA is the assigned gatekeeper, when it comes to the safety of medical drugs. The buck stops there. If those drugs the FDA is certifying as safe are killing, like clockwork, 106,000 people a year, the Agency must be held accountable. The American people must understand that.
As for the other 119,000 people killed every year as a result of hospital treatment, this horror has to be laid at the doors of those institutions. Further, to the degree that hospitals are regulated and financed by state and federal governments, the relevant health agencies assume culpability.
It is astounding, as well, that the US Department of Justice has failed to weigh in on Starfield’s findings. If 225,000 medically caused deaths per year is not a crime by the Dept. of Justice’s standards, then what is?
To my knowledge, not one person in America has been fired from a job or even censured as result of these medically caused deaths.
Dr. Starfield’s findings have been available for nine years. She has changed the perception of the medical landscape forever. In a half-sane nation, she would be accorded a degree of recognition that would, by comparison, make the considerable list of her awards pale. And significant and swift action would have been taken to punish the perpetrators of these crimes and reform the system from its foundations.
In these times, medical schools continue turning out a preponderance of specialists who then devote themselves to promoting the complexities of human illness and massive drug treatment. Whatever the shortcomings of family doctors, their tradition speaks to less treatment, more common sense, and a proper reliance on the immune systems of patients.
The pharmaceutical giants stand back and carve up the populace into “promising markets.” They seek new disease labels and new profits from more and more toxic drugs. They do whatever they can—legally or illegally—to influence doctors in their prescribing habits. Some drug studies which show negative results are buried. FDA panels are filled with doctors who have drug-company ties. Legislators are incessantly lobbied and supported with pharma campaign monies.
Nutrition, the cornerstone of good health, is ignored or devalued by most physicians. Meanwhile, the FDA continues to attack nutritional supplements, even though the overall safety record of these nutrients is good, whereas, once again, the medical drugs the FDA certifies as safe are killing 106,000 Americans per year.
Physicians are trained to pay exclusive homage to peer-reviewed published drug studies. These doctors unfailingly ignore the fact that, if medical drugs are killing a million Americans per decade, the studies on which those drugs are based must be fraudulent or, at the very least, massively incompetent. In other words, the whole literature is suspect, unreliable, and impenetrable.
At the same time, without evidence, doctors off-handedly tout their work with great confidence. Some years ago, a resident at a major New York hospital harangued me about the primacy of controlled studies. She boasted, in passing, that the hospital’s heart-bypass surgery team was considered the best in the city, and one of the best in the country. I asked her for a reference. Was her statement a combination of folk-wisdom and rumor, or was there a proper study that confirmed her opinion? A bit chagrined, she admitted it was hearsay. I was sure she would repeat her tune, however, many times.
Claiming evidence where there is none, and denying the evidence that the medical system does great harm, are apparently part of the weave of the modern Hippocratic Oath.

The reality of the situation is that countless doctors do speak out against medical techniques, drug interactions, process errors and numerous other medical issues each and every day. This is what helps to keep medicine evolving and what helps to develop newer and better treatments.
Case in point, when doctors and researchers started realizing that there were problems with Vioxx, did they get ostracized from the medical community for speaking out? No they didn't, and in fact it led to an FDA investigation, the drug being pulled from the market, and eventually billions of dollars (yes that is billions with a "b") worth of fines and settlements being paid by Merck.
